What are they experiencing? Sometimes it’s entertaining.

Ours would start howling in their sleep. Sometimes only one would howl, but on some occasions the other 2 would join in. Really weird, just laying on the floor, they would not get up, just lay there with their eyes closed and howl.

We had one that would lay on his side and kick his feet like he was running. He would growl sometimes. I recon he was getting after his arch enemy squirrels in his sleep.

I had a GSP that chased rabbits in his sleep all the time.

Both our terrior mixes regularly dream.

Female dreams almost every night. She barks, yelps and whimpers in her sleep. Most of tgr times she is plesant. But, sometimes, she gets agitated so we wake her slowly.

Male dreams often. He twitches his eyes and flares his lips with a wispered bark and runs on his side. Now he is fun to watch.

Our little lap dog recently went blind and she seems to dream a lot now. I'm glad she's still the lively dog she always was, even if it's just in her dreams

^^^^^That's neat she gets to be active as she used to be. My dogs dream. They mostly run and bark. Probably chasing coyotes across the pasture.

We have an old Yellow Lab that does the same thing, she really gets vocal some times.

Pop died in his 90's, and blind, the last year he spent a whole lot of time sleeping. I asked him once about the sleeping and his response was "When I'm sleeping I can see".

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Junior "Scooter" Scout Ranger - head of Ranch Security lol - is now 15 and half blind and deaf. He has great dreams, pretty sure of herding cows. He is a blue heeler and Aussie shep mix but we don't run him anymore. I'm glad he has good dreams and he will always howl at a full moon. Dogs are something special for sure.

I guess I'm getting soft in my old age but that brought a tear to my eye.

There is an old BS bird dog saying something about spitting in their food to make them like you.

My dogs may dream more than I hear, but the ones I hear they usually sound scared. Poor pups.

My bird dog cuts up pretty good sometimes when he is sleeping.
My best guess at what he is dreaming about...

Ours dreams a lot. We always say she is chasing rabbits but it's probably squirrels or cats.
