I know some refer to them as corn buzzards but I'm hoping they make a comeback in my neck of the woods. Few years back I would regularly see 10-20. Been a few years without seeing any but the other day I saw 4. This evening out hunting hogs I came upon this girl roosting. Hated to drive underneath her and spook her but had to. She flew over a tank about 150 yards or so into a field. Hope she got back up in a tree quickly. [Linked Image]

Very cool. I have a public spot with turkeys. I will only shoot one a year, given the situation. Hope they increase in your area.

I think its that along with other predators not being kept in check. I trapped 34 coons this season on my place alone. I read where when the spring rains come it soaks down the nesting hens and carries their smell downwind for miles and draws in predators looking for an easy meal.

^^^^^

Agreed.

Hogs will certainly eat the eggs of ground nesting birds, but they are just in the 'mix' of animals that will readily do so.

Just a few:

Coyote
Fox (red and gray)
Raccoon
Skunk
Possum
Badger
Crows
Several Species of Snakes

It's a wonder any of them survive to hatch.
