Going next weekend up out of Dalhart. Looks like its going to be a little cold 30* - 58*. Do these little rats like cold weather, or do they stay underground?

That ain't cold, lol.
Unless you get snow on the ground they will be up if it's sunny.

Cold isn't a problem for them, but since they're built kinda low to the ground, just a light covering of snow will keep them down. They will pop out of their burrows to have a look-see when there's snow, but they rarely hang around too long. You gotta be fast!!

We noticed that when it was cool and cloudy we didn't see as many but we tried to go the first or 2nd wkend of May so the pups would be out. Always seemed to be a cold front the 3 days we had planned on shooting. Got a burnt up 22-250 Ackley in the back of the safe that's needs a barrel because of them little burgers. Great fun shooting them.

They love the sunshine, and absolutely hate wind!! Even if it's cool, as long as it's sunny they'll be out and soaking it up. Good luck.

Hope our weather doesn't follow us down through the panhandle, snow and cold all week up here. It sags south by end of the week it looks like.

Have fun and I hope it works out for you.
We're hoping for some warm weather while down there. It was about 20 this morning here.

All I know about prairie dogs is you need lots of bullets.
