You’ll buy the quietest one first... then you’ll buy a light one. wink

Mine are below. The M&P-10 with the Cyclone was my first. The rifle is LONG and heavy. I love my RFB with the Griffin. Short and LIGHT. Half the weight of the Cyclone just about.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’d love to go DT and buy several, but don’t have the fundage to buy a can for every rifle I’d like to suppress.

I appreciate the posts about weight and length. Sounds like it matters more than I realized. Likely will be getting a sandman-S. I would get titanium, but it only come in DT.

My first was a gemtech sandstorm titanium direct thread .30 can. I use it the most, just have a bunch of guns threaded 5/8×24. I also have a hybrid 46, it is a lot heavier, but can go on pretty much anything. Dont think you are missing out on anything much by getting a direct thread suppressor.

As I posted before. You can buy multiple mounts for the Harvester. https://silencerco.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/accessorycard-harvester300.pdf

Plus, at 12 oz, it is one of the lightest cans on the market and was made specifically for hunting applications.

I have an allen engineering AE 30. Not new and fancy but I haven't found a can that is more quiet. It's only downside is weight. It is "hollywood" quiet as another user said in a previous post. My next can will be the Banish 30.

Refreshing this thread......

Did you end up buying one?

I am starting to look for one for my 6.5CM CTR.

I have two and am happy with them. I know some people say that mount has issues but I’ve never had a problem.

Have the same suppressor. The only way an ASR mount can fail is by user error.

This!! Have the same one and I love it!!!

Can’t go wrong with the YMH Resonator. Yeah, it’s another 4 oz. over titanium, but quieter, good QD mount, lifetime warranty and half the price in most cases.

There is a reason no one can keep the R2 in stock! Finally found one at Bauer Precision only dealer in the country that has any.

Looking at SilencerShop online. If I buy the can, stamp, and trust online - any concerns, or things to watch out for?

That is the best way to buy one. Find a SilencerShop kiosk near you and it's a 20-30 minute process. Then the wait.

Thanks.

And just to be clear...Buy all of it online, and THEN go to the kiosk (to do paperwork or whatever)?

That's it Texican. I bought mine this way, and the post a few up from here is right. Took about 30 minutes at the kiosk. No transfer fees, etc. The total cost is from Silencershop and that's it. Download the Silencershop app and take a picture of yourself or two.

So.....does it help to provide SSN on the FP cards? I don't want to do it, but they state it helps the process. Am I asking for a longer wait and/or more red tape if I do not provide mine? I figure it's the gov't and they likely know who I am, my SSN, that I am writing on this forum right now.....

I would provide it...but I'm someone that figures if you want someone's SSN you probably get it off the dark web as many places that have been hacked. Example - someone submitted a Texas Unemployment claim on my SSN a month ago...if they want it they can get it. If you are real worried about it...lock all three credit bureaus are your best protection (equafax, experian and transunion).

Well now the wait....

Quick question. I was told to avoid direct thread and get an adapter. Supposedly the direct thread can work itself loose and then you have a damaged baffle. Is this accurate or just trying to sell me the add-on?

I’m still a few months out but plan to run direct thread. You add weight and length. The consensus I gathered from here and a few other sites was if you are sharing across rifles with different thread pitch, 5.56 and 30 cal then running an adapter is required. If you are all 1/2x24 or 5/8x24 you are probably better suited with a direct thread. While there is a chance of the direct thread coming loose as long as you aren’t running full auto mag dumps it’s not a big concern.

Buy one that can do both like the Dead Air Nomad.

Omega , nomad , and a few other have an interchangeable caps that swap.
