Give it time - mine are just now budding out. On mine the branches usually die off back to the ground on cold winters in North Texas, then grow back amazingly fast and put a full crop of figs. I usually wait to see where it buds and new branches spout, before cutting back any of the dried out ones.

Nailed it. Cut one stalk all the way to the ground. Trim higher up if its still living.

Our 3 fig trees bark has split wide open in numerous places. Should I trim back the branches or say good-by?

Starting at I-10 and the further north you go , the worse the damage to fig trees.

Coors, breakfast of Champions. What is it with the stalking. I should have told you sooner that i prefer women. Trying to get me bumped of here where you can move up a notch? It is not fair to the OP. You already shut diem SW thread about reading books. I realize the you may not read but several THFers do.

Starting at I-10 and the further north you go , the worse the damage to fig trees. "The first law of holes, or the law of holes, is an adage which states: "if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging". Digging a hole makes it deeper and therefore harder to get out of, which is used as a metaphor that when in an untenable position, it is best to stop carrying on and exacerbating the situation."

No splits but no buds or leaves. Branches are brittle and bone dry.
