Absolutely

Don't forget .45 ACP.

Every American needs at least one .223

And it's far from whimpy down range with the right hand load. .223 can do amazing things if you know how to let it.

Thanks for the addition; my favorite pistol caliber.....up

I loved my 300blk. It performed very well on deer and hogs but ammo was expensive and components are hard to find. For those reasons, I sold mine off. If you have plenty of ammo then by all means make the switch. It it were me though, I’d always have a .223/556 around.

Basically!
Aside from the venerable 22lr, a category of its own, these are the 4 calibers I have and shot the most.

If shot hit the fan I wouldn’t rely on battlefield pickups for 300 BO. 7.62x39, 308, and 5.56 yes

Wise words!

If a [censored] storm breaks out, and Ive survived long enough to run out of the 300blk ammo that I have on hand, then I can pick up a .5.56/.223 rifle off of the battlefield when I pick up the ammo too.
