Prayers for Olivia. I pray God makes a clear path for the medical team and works in their minds and hands to solve this problem in Jesus name!

Olivia 'might' be coming home this Friday. She seems to be tolerating the new formula well, as well as the medicine.

Update 4/14
, Olivia is at 25ml of "feed" today, as they call it -- but still only 1/2 formula and 1/2 Pedialyte. (but she is tolerating the feed MUCH better) Goal is to increase that and decrease the TPN at the same time. I *think* the TPN is at 18 hours a day now, or maybe starting tomorrow. not sure yet what the goal for the ml/hour is on this new formula (organic!) She was prescribed an appetite stimulant yesterday, so we will see how that works. Also, she is a bit anemic so they are giving her iron today through her IV. They have an appointment on the 26th to get braces made for her feet, so that she can walk in them. Her little legs and feet have gone down-hill quite a bit this stay in the hospital, which is also part of the mitochrondrial disease, unfortunately. they were in physical therapy today, and they have some type of little push cart for her -- she can't push it forward but she did go backward!! He said today was the first time they mentioned "going home" on the TPN, which is good -- but also, it's expensive and not ideal, since there is more danger of infection at the IV site. A nurse has to come out and check things at least once a week. BUT they are talking about going home.

My heart aches for her and all who love her.

Olivia is still hooked up to the TPN (total parenteral nutrition) at least 16 hours a day, and her 'feed rate' is *I think* up to 32 or 33 ml per hour, still at a 50/50 ratio with PediaLyte, and still using lactulose to "keep things moving" through her intestines. The 'goal' was just 35ml/hour, so they are close to that volume. They put her on an appetite stimulant, which makes her sleepy.. She seems to have a "routine" of vomiting once in the morning. At first thought it was because of physical therapy, but Sam had them change the PT to the afternoon, and Olivia still vomited in the morning.
However, if she reaches the 35ml/hr goal of food toleration, it's possible she could come home by the end of the week.

It’s hard to fathom that the best doctors in the world have come to the dead ends that they have in this case.
Although my 16 year old niece spent six months in the same hospital, losing about 60 pounds with no positive diagnosis. I think it just played itself out. She was skin and bones coming out.

On a plus, she did get fitted for some little leg braces to help her walking as her left leg from the mid shin down is curled a little bit.(part of the mitochondrial issue).
