Potbelly for our house. Firehouse is okay, but just a little better than subway, which I havenā€™t eaten in years.

My son loves firehouse subs too. Hook and ladder fully involved every time. I do like the captian sorensens datil pepper sause. Not spicy, but great flavor.

The Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket is my favorite sub sandwich at Firehouse. I donā€™t eat subs often, but if I do Firehouse is the first pick. Potbelly would follow closely behind, then maybe Quiznos. Everything else isnā€™t worth paying money for (Subway and even worse Jimmy Johnā€™s). I havenā€™t eaten at Jersey Mikeā€™s so I canā€™t rank them.

Firehouse makes a decent sandwich, I also like all the different hot sauces to choose from.

My son did an experiment rating different sub shops philly cheese subs. He used Charlies as the standard. He tried Subway, Jersey Mikes, Jimmy Johns and 1 other that I can't remember. Jersey Mike's was the closest to his Favorite, Charlies. Interesting to note that only Charlies and Jersey mikes prepared the sandwich fresh when you ordered. All the rest had a bin full of meat sitting there that they pulled from.

I haven't seen a Quiznos in forever...are they still around?

Jersey Mikeā€™s for cold subs. Jimmy Johnā€™s are good too, but much smaller. I canā€™t stand the ones that heat up cold cuts and put fresh lettuce on them.

I like Jersey Mike's better as well, even though I really like the Turkey Bacon Ranch at Firehouse. The chipotle cheese steaks at Jersey's are great.

Wilted lettuce just doesnā€™t appeal to my taste buds. The first and only time I had a Firehouse sub, it was served hot with fresh lettuce.
