I tried to set mine up through Texas Health which is my primary care provider. They said I didnt qualify because I was under the age of 50. I laughed and said it was open to everyone over the age of 16 now. She said that is correct the state has opened it up to everyone but Texas Health hasnt done so yet and she didnt know when they would. That really didnt sit well with me. So I tried to set up an appointment through CVS and they are all booked around here at the moment.
Oh well, I tried.

Oh well, I tried. CVS adds appointments usually between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. and 5:20 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. in the D/FW area. Walmart also has them in this area. Good luck.

Nobody getting the J&J one shot deal? Very limited supply...they were supposed to have 20 million for the US by today, but not sure if they actually reached that goal. I know of 2 people that have gotten it, but for the most part, they are very limited here in Texas. I think of the 800,000 doses we received last week less than 100,000 were J&J.

If you want to get the shot, go right ahead.. I won't stop try to stop you or tell you why you should or shouldn't get the shot. You're a grown up and can make Your own decisions. Just don't mandate me or force me. The question was "did you get it and how are you doing afterwards" no one said you had to get it. I was making a statement

I agree the government over-reaction and over-reach surrounding Covid is ridiculous and unfortunate. However, I wasn't aware the vaccine was about if you were going to die from Covid or not. Dying from the flu certainly isn't why most people get the flu vaccine or other vaccines. There are 2 ways to get antibodies, get the virus or get a shot. Getting a shot is a hell of a lot easier and safer IMO. To each their own.

Hopefully it will soon be gone. There are more and more immune everyday form antibodies as well as vaccinations.

I received the moderna vaccine, had soreness with the first injection in late December and no symptoms with the second. Being on the front lines of this, I know countless people that have received the vaccine and everyone has different opinions on which one has worst side effects.

Got my second Pfizer shot on Monday. My arm isn't nearly as sore as it was after the first one and I had occasional fever/chills that started on Tuesday and were finished by Wednesday night. I'll take that over getting knocked out for a week by it when I would have eventually caught it down the road. No different for me than getting a yearly flu shot.
Thanks, Rich

Any updates on efficacy duration on any of these concoctions? Just wondering how many of these shots will be required a year for one to consider themselves safe from the virus? Last I heard was an estimated 3-4 months, meaning 6-8 shots a year of an untested vaccine. Yeah, I'm not real eager to be their guinea pig. To each their own though.

Pfizer just released data showing it's very robust and provides 91% efficacy 6 months out. Another study released about 10 days ago showed mRNA vaccines trigger a lymph node reaction, so B cells are activated meaning a much longer immunity than originally thought. Time will tell, but I would bet it'll be effective longer than 1 year.

vaccines take years to develop and 2-3 years for clinical trials. if your getting it now you are in a clinical TRIAL, not a approved medication. its a experiment .
