Any reports or predictions for this Spring? The past two years we have had zero turkeys on our lease. Prior to that, we had turkeys every year, Fall and Spring. Don't know what happened. Hoping things get better real soon.

I will be in the southeast corner of Callahan County hunting turkeys next week. Will report
Last year I got a nice one a couple hundred yards from the barn.

Windy this morning.
Was calling, the turkeys were answering, thinking I got this.
Then about a dozen fly out of the roost tree to the waterhole, I watch them there and they go onto next property.
This afternoon I will stakeout the roost for their return.

On my place(SouthEast Corner of Callahan County) I've noticed the same thing with regards to Turkeys. They have been hammered it seems by the drought and predators. I have started to see a few as of late but nothing like a few years back. On my place I have been actively controlling the coon and coyote population. Saw 2 hens this evening sitting in a blind for hogs. Saw a group of 4 the other day on a neighbors place. Nothing like in years past. Turkeys for me get to walk for a while until I see their numbers improving on my place and the general area and i'm going to keep hammering the predators.
