I saw that. I also heard there's a proposal to change the non resident allocation to 10%. This has come up before but stack the two together and I wonder if a lot of points get burned this year. I'm looking at other units with a little better odds.. maybe two point buffet rather than half a point.
90/10 will probably come up again this coming year and might well get passed for next year.
What is being pushed is a 10% cap or quota on NR LQ, limited quota, licenses in initial draw. If passed LQ elk tags would decrease but General elk tags would increase. Wyoming has a state statute that guarantees NR a certain number of licenses, if LQ tags are taken away then General tags will be increased to reach the quota.
It will affect NR pronghorn and deer tags but I bet still have licenses available in leftover draw for NR.
The outfitters association is also pushing a huge price increase for NR elk licenses.
Pronghorn numbers can bounce back pretty quick with good conditions, hoping we have a nice summer and fall to help with those numbers.
