They were made by IMI and are no longer produced. Pump action, 10 round, tubular magazine. Just picked up one of these rifles and ran 15-20 .357 mags and .38 SPL rounds through it. What a hoot to shoot! Do any of you have one of these rifles, and if so, do you have a favorite reload recipe you would share with me? Standard, 18.5 inch barrel; 1:20 twist.

Pretty unique gun. How was the accuracy.

Pretty unique gun. How was the accuracy. I just got it yesterday and have just function tested it with the Magnum and Special rounds. It functioned flawlessly with both. Last night I put a very old Weaver fixed 4 on it and hope to get out and give the accuracy capabilities a test. It sure is fun to shoot. With the Specials it's like shooting a 10/22; with the Mag loads it's like a Hornet. One of those centerfire rifles that you can shoot all day without winding up with a sore shoulder. Love it.

I got out this afternoon with some 38 SPL hand loads and tried to zero the scope. The wind was blowing across the range at around 15 mph, gusts to 20. The target stand was rocking and rolling, but it was still fun to get out and shoot it and with every 3 shot group I tried at both 25 and then 50 yards, I would get two bullets in the same hole and one off a bit, away from the wind direction. The load I was using is rather anemic: 148 grain Hornady BBWC's with 3.1 grains of Bullseye and an estimated MV of 750fps. Kiinda hard to measure the MV when the chrony and the tripod it was sitting on kept blowing over! But I think I've got a shooter on my hands. And I'm looking forward to loading up some .357 Magnum rounds for it. I've got some 125 grain Hornady HPXTP's that I can safely push pretty hard. The soft, lead WC's I try to keep below 800 fps to reduce leading. I'll post a report once I can give the new rifle a bit better test.

I’ve been looking at 357/38 sp rifles for a year solid. Started doing a little research on those. They seem very well made, heck it’s imi. I just couldn’t find too much in depth. Nice score they don’t pop up everyday.

Nice score they don’t pop up everyday. I hear you! I didn't know anything about them (still don't know much!), but it was 357/38 SPL and I had been thinking about getting a lever action in those calibers, and, as you mentioned, made by IMI and they do know a bit about making durable, accurate guns, so I went ahead and bought it. I figured I could do some internet research and gather all the information about them that I needed or wanted. It is slim pickin's, indeed; I was surprised at how very little information was available. The little bit I've found seems to be that they are very well made, accurate, dependable rifles, and that makes me happy. I also found some selling for $1K or more, and I paid considerably less than that for mine, and that makes me even happier!!

Nice score, I've been looking for a lever or pump in a pistol caliber, got a Ruger 44/77 bolt gun couple years ago when Cabelas had them half off. Still want a pump or lever. Edit to add, have you thought about loading 38 loads in 357 cases so the crud ring stays in the same place?

No, as a matter of fact, I haven't thought of that, but I'm going to try it. Thanks for the idea!
