The Academy on Bunker Hill in Houston had some ammo in stock at 11:00 am this morning. Limit two boxes per purchase.

I saw 28 gauge, 12 gauge, .223, 7.62x54R, 9mm, .380, 7.62x39, and .308.

Luck favors the prepared mind.

Idk if was true or not but an "insider" from academy @#&^posted on TGT saying that in the coming weeks the gouger's are going to be "getting what's coming to them" and how Academy is going to be flooding the Ammo section.

Does that mean EVERYONE will be limited to quantity, and folks will have plenty available to them, thereby skirting the resellers?

I don’t think that with the current buying frenzy, ammo will be so abundant that people will stop hoarding. It’s going to take a long time for people to stop. Biden talking about more gun laws is not going to help either. It’s been a year now of this shortage and it’s going to take a year for it to end.

Problem is the madness will continue at midterms it’s years before this gets better.

Not sure about any of this, but I know Academy has been going up on prices (along with others). 3 weeks ago I bought 50rds 17HNR for $14.99. This week was $19.99. I guess it is what it is......

It’s not going to end soon. They are reporting Biden will use executive orders on some gun control measures.

^ Suppliers raise prices then retailers raise prices. Simple economics. EVERYTHING is going up in price. Been to the lumber yard or hardware store lately? Housing is also going gang busters too.

I get it. 1/3 price hike in 3 weeks is pretty substantial.

Interesting that Academy even cares that the ammo is being resold. I would think the gougers and hoarders are helping Academy increase prices. They are making about 20% more on ammo than they were at the beginning of the year. And there is no end in site. It is a money making machine.

So, you feel that their cost has not gone up - and the higher price is strictly more profit for Academy?

I suggest that everyone get ready for the coming inflation.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

My experience has shown that Walmart pricing is the best indicator of what retailers are paying suppliers. Yes, the smaller stores don't get it at the same price as Walmart, but you can still tell which stores are inflating their prices. I recently picked up a brick of .22 ammo at Walmart for $18.99 that another store was selling for $35.99. You can't tell me the small store wasn't inflating their profit margin. I also purchased a box of Winchester XP 30-06 at the same time for a good friend for $18 and some change.

You can rest assured there are Walmart haters who are silently watching their shelves for the opportunity to purchase ammo.

Smaller stores do NOT get pricing any where near what Wal-Mart does. Walmart retail price is very typical of small B&M cost.

I stand corrected.... I bought at $14.99 in the DFW area originally. When in Houston area for work, stopped by one and it was $19.99 . I guess that store/Houston/etc was just higher. confused2 Anyways, stopped by this afternoon and a DFW store had a couple of boxes..still at $14.99.

Not sure exactly what that means, but I did see someone get refused sale today because it was their 3rd time today. This was this afternoon, so I am guessing there was quite a bit of ammo early and he made out with at least 4 from that location (not much left this afternoon, but a handful of boxes),

somebody's getting very wealthy, with us minions taking it in the azz

Capitalism???

whatever

Academy has all the golf balls youll ever need, same prices as 2 years ago confused2 bs

Well...I am a bit embarrassed. These were two different variations of the Hornady 17HMR ammo (VMax vs HTP). Pricing was not higher in Houston. peep
