My son (11) and I decided to start collecting knives, mostly slip joint Cases. We were over at mom's earlier and she drug out some knives that were my grandpa's that she gave my son. Thought I'd share a picture and see if anyone has any info on a few of them. It's nothing too special.

Left to right, top to bottom:

Schrade Cutlery Cowboy Commemorative Scrimshaw Limited Edition Knife

Boker Damascus in the black case. Case says "There are only 500 of these knives in the world". There's an old old hand written price sticker on the handle that says $250. I couldn't find anything online about this knife.

Under that one is a Boker Tree Brand 2000

Schrade Heritage in the blue box, 1983

Schrade scrimshaw skinner with the raccoon on it

Schrade TV-85 - Texas Sesquicentennial edition

Remington R-4353, 1985 Woodsman Bullet Knife

SCHRADE FIRST DUCK STAMP #0959 WITH BRONZE MEDAL

Back on the left - Kabar 80s camping utility knife

My son's favorite - MikeC knife

The next three plus the camo one below are our Case collection we started haha.

Above that is I think my favorite - Kabar with dog head, large toothpick shaped.

Old case fixed blade skinner

And finally Boker Tree brand Blackbeard edition

Nice collection. I will try to remember to pull all of mine out and take a pic this weekend. I have a decent collection going.

I’ll be sticking to slip joints in the future. The rest are cool, but I don’t particularly care for the ones in cases and such.

Thinking about selling the Cowboy and raccoon schrades and the bokers if anyone is interested. Replace with slip joints. I like them better.

Two new additions:

Newest Case. Bad picture but it’s a Amber bone sod buster JR. Son picked It out.

[Linked Image]

And replaced the crappy sheath in the picture with this bad boy courtesy of the man dink dodger.

Also sold the raccoon schrade.

It's all about the fun and what you find cool. I don't consider myself a collector, but I keep acquiring knives, onesey twosey, until I have far more than I need or can probably ever use. Of course, that doesn't keep me from getting new ones. I need more distant relatives for which to buy birthday / anniversary / Christmas gifts, I guess.

And that sheath looks terrible in that picture. I would have sent a better pic if I knew you were going to post it blush

Haha. Yeah I get on kicks sometimes.

Grandma actually surprised my son with the sod buster.

The red (not pink) kirinite one was just the normally scheduled payday one lmao. Son also picked that one. I prefer the bone.

THEN...
The boker I had listed on here sold so I replaced it with a navy blue bone slimline trapper. Pics when It gets here lol.

I like the way the collection is going.

It's hard to beat a slipjoint for looks. The handle material and color options make for so many cool knives.

I was reading some articles saying to focus your collection on particular styles, colors, or handle material. Meh, We’re just buying what we think looks cool haha. We’re all over the place but enjoying them all.

Appreciate it.

That's all that I think matters. Some people collect only slipjoints or only titanium framelocks or all variations of one model. I buy whatever strikes my fancy. If you get something you think is cool and end up not liking it, knives are easy to sell. My collection is constantly changing, just tonight I make a deal to trade 3 knives for 1.

I was fortunate to purchase a knife from Bumper. His act is together. Immediately noted my desire, changed the post to reflect it was taken, communicated with me via PM, relayed a time frame, sent me a copy of the PO receipt and then the knife got here. Provided me with the resemblance of a well oiled machine - something missing far too much these days. If everybody operated as per cbump (at least in this transaction), the world would be a better place.

It has been my pleasure to purchase something which I desired. I am gonna get great use outta that knife you no longer wanted. Please pardon me in advance for putting it in that pouch with the stain on it. Guessing I will have to go stain the whole dad gum thing. Anyways, it is on my hip this day and sure to get used.

Sodbuster's are just cool lol. By far my favorite pattern

I've recently just been focusing on traditional knives and I'm up to 20 Sodbuster style knives from mainly Case but GEC, and several other brands as well.

Bought a black synthetic sodbuster JR for my son for Christmas. No picture but it’ll go in the collection also. It’s the one that says sod buster on the blade.

Well he loved his Sodbuster Jr so much that he used some Christmas money to buy senior. And this other one he picked out.

Best part about coming to the in-laws was I won back the white elephant gift I brought. Sheath made by our very own Dink Dodger.

And the boy got to use the new sodbuster to finish off this guy he shot.

In 2003, some guys at my old job gave me this one as a going away gift

I’m down to 2 Case knives left

I don’t carry this one but if I lose the orange handled one I will

I’m so bad at losing them

My FIL gave me this Ram horn Moore Maker 10 years ago

I am afraid to lose it so I won’t ever carry it hunting.

But what worse? Using it and losing it or never using it?

I’ve been torn…

He carries it daily and its worn smooth

IDK how he did it but I don't know how I can't carry one for more than a year and lose it

Ive never lost my wallet or phone

I had a yellow handled 2 blade folder Moore Maker and man it seemed cheap

Metal was thin and that yellow plastic started to peel away in the year I carried it

It was a gift but I carried it a year or so before you know, losing it...

I think their single blade hunting knives are made a little better

BTW, I have always wanted a file blade hunting knife, maybe one day I will order one from one of the guys on here

Id prefer like a 3.5' blade, maybe 4 tops, I prefer a smaller hunting knife

Wait, I bought a file blade style from a guy in Weatherford...Cant recall his name but he has a few blades for sale at Gibsons behind the glass near the guns

Paid I want to say, $250, maybe $300

Sweat little knife

Gave it to a buddy a few months later, he seemed more responsible than me

If they used it, they must be bad A

I was in Wal-Mart and saw this a few years ago and it brought me back

Kinda like a Ruger M77 red pad, its what I looked up to as a knife the red pads are always going to be my rifle

Had to have it, afraid to use it...
