Why can’t abbott recall pull our NG soldiers from the capital and put them on the border ? Its texas’ border. We shpuld be able to defend it.


This is a failure of all levels of govt and they are allowing a direct invasion of our country. Political malpractice at its finest.

What recourse do we have aside from elections? Recalls? Can we recall the president ?

this is more of a memory lane post. those are the barracks most of us stayed in during basic training.

I remember it well. Sad to see it used in this way.

I got it, was stationed at lackland for 7 years. Drove past those barracks quite a lot. I am sorry to derail the thread. Am just frustrated with the whole thing.

As an aside, i did my “basic” training at Maxwell in montgomery, AL back in 97. My dad who went through army OTC called it knife and fork school. The next year the AF ramped up the training considerably to make it more like a true basic experience and lost a ton of docs, nurses, lawyers, etc...i could have handled it no doubt, but my basic experience was not the same as most airman.

spent my time in those barracks 3709 basic military training squadron. good times.

I was in 3701, flight 461, April 1977. I was 17yo. Quite the experience.
