I am catching them building nests like crazy around my home.
Front porch Under Eve near garage In the squirrel baffle on bird feeder Behind our shutters upfront.
They are just now starting to build nests...I am spraying the one or two with 1/2 water and 1/2 dawn dishwashing soap. Hope that works.
Any reason for them to be this bad?

Only seen a few this year. Skeeter hawks like crazy when the grow lights are going in the evenings though.
The freeze didn’t seem to do anything to them or even the mosquitos. Bastages

Any and all wasps suck, I hit a tree a couple weeks ago that had the real deal hornets in it and if I hadn’t been inside a cab I feel certain I’d had a heart attack. They were dive bombing the windshield so hard it was splattering some of them, wasps/hornets are the one thing I’m 100% freaked out by.. Hell To The No X infinity

No need to go 50-50 on the dawn/water. I usually put 1/4-1/2oz Dawn in a quart cup of water and the hose the nest

You need to tear down the nest no matter what you use. Ask me how I know.

You need to tear down the nest no matter what you use. Ask me how I know. Nope. Leave the nest- stragglers will continue to come back to it and if it has been sprayed with raid or similar they will get poisoned too. Otherwise the stragglers will just start work on a new nest.

The freeze didn’t seem to do anything to them or even the mosquitos. Bastages I have very few crane flies this year compared to previous years. I don't kill wasps unless they are in an are where the pose a threat like under pool ladder. I also do not kill non-poisinous spiders. My ex would get passed when I would not kill a spider.
