Timely thread. Fox business just reported a wallet was returned after being lost for 70 years. It had Green Stamps in there.

About a year. I used to carry them about 5 years, now get a new one every few years as technology changes. Have the RFID blocking one now. It also has a money clip and an outside slot where I keep my work ID.

Mine is about 3 years old. My previous wallet was about 12 years old and replaced it with the exact same wallet.

I haven't carried a wallet in twenty years. I have a clip that works better for me.
I have cash, DL, credit card and a couple of other cards I need and that's it. Front pocket, compact, lightweight.
I wouldn't go back to a wallet.

My buddy and I had a conversation about how many wallets we have owned since the age of 18. He is 50 and is on his 4th, and I am 45 and I'm on my third..... I told him the wallet business is probably not too profitable since men hold on to their wallets so long, and a 15 dollar wallet will do just fine.

First one about 25 years. My better half gifted me the second one cause the first was worn out(she said). I thought it was a little frayed at worst and broken in at best. But as was said on “Open Range”, “it’s a gift, you don’t have a choice”. So I excepted it and have had it about ten years. When we run into Ron and Suzi with Wildgoose at TWA I have to warn them to lie to her that it’s discontinued so she won’t buy me another one. Condom-ring looks a little small, freerange. I have a front-pocket wallet the wife gave me about 4 years ago. It's actually woven canvas and still looks brand new. It's predecessor was a leather FPW from one of the mall stores, it made about 12 years.

Switched over to a front-pocket clip type deal about 6 years ago. Still on the same one - seems like it'll probably last 15-20 years at this rate.
Two big things I've noticed - my back hurts a heck of a lot less since I'm not sitting on a wallet all day - and my debit card/credit cards don't seem to get messed up like they did with a back pocket wallet.

All good points.... I should look into them. I sit on my wallet for 12 hours at a time. The seat of my tractor actually has an indention in it.

Bought a handmade copper money clip, has a carved redfish in it, and has my initials stamped into it. Looks better with age.

Haven't carried a wallet since I finalized my divorce, sold the house and paid off my credit cards in Spring 2008. Try to use cash as much as possible. If I think I'm going to need a credit/debit card I put it in my pocket.

I carry too much stuff in all my pockets, wallet in left rear pocket, probably 7-8 years old, cheapo fabric tri-fold with Velcro closure, ugly and packed full, maybe an inch plus thick. These have become hard to find even at Walmart lately. My wife bought me a nice leather bi-fold but just not enough capacity for me.

I have a friend with a backache who carried a fat wallet in his back pocket. Guess what?
