Thoughts? We normally go to Trulucks but I felt like changing it up a bit.

We enjoy it and the food is really good but the South African Lobster at Trulucks always draws me back, it’s literally the only food I actually crave. If you like Trulucks you will like Ocean Prime as well, we normally go a few times a year just for a change but prefer Trulucks most of the time. I’d give Ocean the nod for steaks but Lucks for seafood so I’d depends what we’re in the mood for. Did I mention that African lobster tail is next level

The wife has eaten there and liked it better than Cafe Pacific, that might have been about the people she was with since I wasn't there

Ocean Prime was very good. We started with the deviled eggs ($18) and crab cake ($20) for the spawn. Not the best deviled eggs I’ve had, wife didn’t like them at all, the truffle was a little over powering. The crab cake was outstanding and nearly 100% crab meat, unlike a lot of them. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-15111-287947-1bf290de_3976_41b9_b1c7_1551783d5218.jpeg) Main course for me was the 16 ounce waygu ribeye ($85). Absolutely perfect. I stepped out of my normal rare doness and went medium rare due to the much high marbling of the waygu and I’m very glad I did. Steak had an excellent charred crust while the inside remained very red and almost melted in your mouth. No over powering seasoning, just a damn good steak. Excuse my finger. Wife has the seasonal special which consisted of Chilean sea bass served with Alaskan king crab legs over gnocchi noodles in some kind of sauce ($62). Wife liked everything but the sauce, said it kind of drug the meal down. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-15111-287954-2c2ea6d9_07d5_4550_ac02_3b990cf2b447.jpeg) Shared side was whipped mash potatoes. Very good and not dry. Drinks were a house Chardonnay ($11) for the wife and a Maker Mark Old Fashioned ($12) for me and this has to be in the top 3 best I’ve ever had. Strong, not sweet, good kick. For desert we made our way over to Sablon, if you’re ever in Dallas and want fresh made chocolate and awesome deserts you need to try this place. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-15111-287956-25d22a1b_d7d5_40a7_83ec_e46fe917e3d5.jpeg)

Crab cakes and Ribeye look and sound kick azz, to bad no pic of the inside of the steak. Sounds like that was around a $300.00 date night?

Will probably stick to Trulucks for seafood in the DFW area, but would go back to Ocean Prime for steaks again. The thing I forgot to mention is the kids menu. The tiny human got an off menu cheeseburger, it came out on a toasted bun with a 1/2 pound patty that was absolutely amazing. A side of fresh cut fries that were equally as good. Wife and I figured that was probably a $20 burger... nope just $8. He loved it but only ate half, which is still probably more than he should’ve ate.
