Looking for a mule deer hunt(Rocky Mountain species) for an old guy. Spent all my hunt savings on Alaska last year so it would have to be a DYI effort for sure. I don't climb the lofty peaks much anymore. Suggestions are appreciated and i have 2 points in Colo. May go the PP route up there.

I was under the impression that Nebraska mulies were light in the antler mass, though I may be mis-informed?

I have seen some big ones from Kansas and Eastern Colorado. Saw one big one along I25 at night bear Buffalo WY. Those were all a lot bigger than my 145 inch 4X4 from Montana. Of course I saw a bigger one a couple days after I shot that one, but that was my first and only MD.

That would work for me. Guided, lease, or trespass type hunt?

This was private property, self guided. Unfortunately, the ranch sold not too long after this hunt. But there were plenty like this to go around.

Thanks, the bigger one is my brother's deer. 303 yard shot and he drilled him. That's a deer of a lifetime for either of us. Mine was definitely an older deer and way past his prime. It was a great trip all a round.
