The yard will be 80-90% sun these oaks are gone tomorrow.

Another question is,....reel mower or normal mulching blade?

Thanks.

Can't believe yall are killing those trees. It only takes a minute or two to blow the leaves.

We put down zoysia this past fall at new home. Stayed green through the recent snow, not sure which zoysia it is. I will have to find out now. All good so far.

Superduty now would be a perfect time to get a soil test done before it gets installed and you put down any fertilizer. I don't know your location but if you're in DFW or another area with high Ph soils I'd get the Waypoint SW1 soil test.

Leaves....leaves.....the 4 months of leaves.

I have nearly 40 oak trees - just mulch them with your mower and return that goodness to the soil. Most Zoysia will do okay in moderate shade. Just create a mulch circle around the drip lines of those oaks and then sod with Zoysia.

I've never found any of the grass hybrids that did well in Texas, with our climate extremes.

Bermuda and St. Augustine top the list for a reason.

Tree work has started,..you guys should have came out yesterday, climes the tree, built a hammock with food and supplies...front is getting knocked out.

I do believe, remove a tree and plant another one, which is what is being done.

The reason for the tree removal is leave do not always fall straight down and it is very windy for the 3-4 months these leaves fall. Th south wind covers my valleys in my roof and back patio constantly in the early and mid spring, the time I enjoy the patio the most.

So you tree huggers are too late.
New grass and new trees are being installed next week.

Oh hell no!

Shumard Red Oaks. Beautiful fall red leaves(while the north wind blows) not on my roof or back porch.

I said this once before, I know what I am doing.

This oak stump was wet and smelled like it was rotting in middle(second picture) I could dig it out with my fingers.

Stump grinding tomorrow and going to tackle the massive cotton wood tomorrow and Friday in backyard.
