Now if there is a subsection that notes "All regulations do not apply to private bodies of water...", I stand corrected.

Great pics!

My son and his friends caught some good ones out of our farm pond.

I hope to get the grandkids out there this weekend.

Could you send me a link that notes that statewide regulations do not apply to private property? I'm generally curious now as I wasn't able to find anything noting such.

https://texreg.sos.state.tx.us/public/readtac$ext.TacPage?sl=T&app=9&p_dir=P&p_rloc=168383&p_tloc=14898&p_ploc=1&pg=11&p_tac=&ti=31&pt=2&ch=57&rl=981

I'm not disputing that a property owner doesn't need a license on their private property.

Yep, while i haven't done it, it sure makes sense that those fish in MY pond on MY property, and in some cases, that I (you, someone) BOUGHT and stocked the pond are your fish to do with what you dang well please.

Maybe someone could ask a game warden next time they get stopped peep

Very nice!

Fishing around here busted loose today. Been hitting the creeks just about every day waiting for the Sandbass to show up and they showed up in a BIG way today! Hope we get some rain tonight but not so much that it blows the creeks out.

There is no sentence in the manual that specifically addresses this, that I am aware of but....there is a reason that TP&W specifically addresses regulations pertaining to PUBLIC waters (not private) with a few exceptions that you can follow in the manual. I guess TP&W never printed the before mentioned specifically, because it's always been common sense amongst Texans and never really needed to go into detail on this. As long as your private pond is not connected to a PUBLIC resource (this is covered), you can do whatever the hell you want and whenever you want with your private pond. Game fish laws do not apply to private ponds, never have. Call a Game Warden, you will be told the same.

There are catfish ponds with no limit. You pay for what you catch. If the same regs applied those places could not do that.

Call this guy. A similar question was asked on the following forum with the following answer (basically stating State regulations do NOT apply to private waters)

https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/7948236/Fishing_license_and_bag_limit_

"You do not need a fishing license for a private water body. The neighborhood association or the pond / lake owner may have fishing regulations in place that you may need to abide by, but is not required by TPWD.

Thank you for providing this! I just want to be sure that I have some type of documentation in the event I am ever questioned by a GW.
