When I bought my 2016 Ram I also bought chryslers bumper to bumper warranty and it was included in the payments. 1T diesel trucks cost too much for something to go wrong 2-3 years down the road but truck is now paid off and I never had any problems so chrysler won,or did they.

I never have, but would consider it now if it covers all the electronic BS that come on them. If that "screen" as my son calls it goes blank at 36,001 miles I bet it is a few grand.

KIA 100,000 mile warranty would put a big hurt on their pocketbooks.

It costs a little more but but I think it's worth it but any warranty I would get from the maker of the vehicle.Most or all dealers sell their own new vehicle warrantys but read what it says as most of them have to be taken back to the selling dealership.Get the factory that's good at any dealership,yep,it costs but have it in your payments and you wont miss it.

I wait until the 3 yr 36,000 mile warranty is close to being expired. Then I purchase from Flood Ford in Florida, the ESP Premium, mainly for the electronics. Great prices.

My F250 is covered until 125,000 or 4 more years. I have 76k on her now with only two issues, both times were the heated steering wheel went out. One replacement is over 1000.00. So I am winning. I also have the LED light package covered, go price a single rear or front LED replacement light. Peace of mind is a great thing.

I did the same ford warranty on my 14 f150, only had 3 minor problems but 2 were overnight stays. got a loaner from the dealer first time and second they were out so got an enterprise f150 for 3 days.

out of all warranties now but was well worth the extra I paid in 14 and it was the ford extended factory not some 3rd party or a dealer, used it at 3 different dealers without a hitch.

Many years ago Sears had a sale on chain saws. I was doing a lot of cedar cutting at the time and I bought 2 of them and warranties on both for 2 years. I made out like a bandit. They would last about a month before crapping out. I took the broke one back to sears. Used the other one until it broke then took it back and picked up the repaired one. This went on until the warranties expired and then I threw both in the dump. I think they were poulan or something like that with the sears name. Real POS. After that have only bought Stihl except for the electric ryobi. And though it is hard for me to say it the ryobi battery saw is actually very good.

I'd never purchase an extended warranty on a new vehicle. There's a reason they're selling them hard.....and it's not because it saves you money, but makes them money.

I buy extended warranties on first model years. Other than that, nope. My wife's Navigator has one since it was a 2018 and a major redesign. I don't want to be paying for a seat that goes bad in that thing or a bombed ecoboost

Why don't you purchase it when you get the vehicle? Why wait until manufacture warranty is about to expire?

Like to shop around for better pricing and do not want yo pay interest on the warranty.

Only time it may be worthwhile is if it's made by Chrysler. Otherwise, you're ahead having a fully funded emergency fund.

The RAM should come with a 100,000 mile power train warranty. You can add an extended warranty at any time before the factory warranty expires I believe. If you want the truck get it and drive it, and if/when you think you need to add the warranty add it.

If you are good at haggling the warranties can be bought at a very cheap price. Most folks don't know this and accept the first price that is offered. A lot of "finance" guy get bonuses on how many warranties they sell and will sell cheap if they are behind on their objective to get that bonus.

I got the warranty from He77 on my Titan. So far I've yet to need it other than free rent car when in for regular service which is free with my warranty.

Take the cost of the warranty and put it in an interest bearing account. If you typically finance a vehicle, add the interest cost each month. See where you are at that time when the vehicle is paid off.

Warranty companies average out the expected repair costs and then sell them to a dealer after adding a profit. The dealer then sells to the customer after, once again adding a profit.

What I have detailed provides you with a discretionary repair account which includes the expected average repair cost plus interest you would have paid, two profit margins plus interest earned. Then take care of your vehicle.

Yes. I have the 2020 ecodiesel (100,000 mi power train warranty) and bought an extended 6/100,000 mile bumper to bumper from Ziegler online for $1100. Gives me some peace of mind, and normal wear and tear obviously not covered. It was waaay cheaper than anyone else and is a Mopar warranty, not 3rd party.

My policy is to never buy an extended warranty on anything. I do not even buy road hazard on tires. I have come out way ahead doing this. If I think I need an extended warranty I don't buy the product. If you want to buy one shopping around will get you the best price from what I have seen on forums.

Surprise, surprise.

If you do not prepare or cannot prepare for "surprise, surprise", then buy the warranty. it's just harder to get ahead by paying the expenses which others consider routine.
