I havent been able to find 6.8 for a year now and it looks like it is finally on the market. I found wilson combat has 95 gr barnes available at the same price it was before the rush. Now that is what I call a stand up guy!!! I would like to thank bill wilson for not jacking up the prices sky high. I am now a loyal customer for them. Even Larry potterfield is jacking ammo prices way up. He was always high anyways but not $37 a box for cheap SSTs. Now that is ridiculous! I am seeing green tip at academy now regularly so I am hopeful we can get back to where we were before the pandemic. This $3 and $5 a round is just ADDING FUEL TO THE FIRE. I HOPE THOSE GUYS CHOKE ON THEIR BULLETS!!!!

It does seem to be coming around. Prices have gone up slightly, at least where I am. Green tips are now $12.99/ 20 RD box. They were $9.99 towards end of last year. But at least it is showing up more.

Demand is coming down at the given prices. Much fewer people are shooting, so personal stockpiles are reaching a point where people don't want to buy more at ridiculous prices. Hopefully profiteers begin to choke on their supply.

I was at Cabelas in San Marcos last night and they had no ammo. Academy in San Marcos has 12, 20, 28, 7.62x51 and 5.56 in stock.

Most of these individual resellers are not sitting on a huge stock, they are flipping ammo for a quick buck. Nope, they won't choke on it - they will sell it because that's what they do.

The crazy high prices are caused by the people who are willing to pay them, not the people selling.

Ammo will go nuts again about mid summer, better get your nut while you can..

Sadly I believe this is only temporary. Once midterms really get in full swing it’s going to be another rush. Then White House is up for grabs again. It’ll be a roller coaster till the libs have lost power. I’m not a sky is falling guy but I remember Obama years.

When people start thinking about hunting season again, it’s going to start all over again.

I think when it becomes known that ammo is on shelves again, people who stopped looking because they couldn't find/afford ammo will start buying and wipe out inventories again.

Been in Academy in Tyler a couple times in the last 2-3 weeks and they got zilch for any kind of ammo. WalMart in Palestine had some Mil Surp FMJ 308 2 weeks ago but nothing since then anytime I've been there. I'm buying $100+ per trip in packing material & tubs for the upcoming renovation next week from the Plumber's Flood of 2/3rds of my house the week before the Polar Vortex...and Wal Mart is out of most of that stuff too.

Attwoods has had 6.5 PRC last couple of times I went in both in Tyler and Kilgore.

I am going to check a different Walmart and a different Academy today than "normal".

Ammo is not coming around...yet.

I sold some , made enough to buy a new truck
Or a nice chunk of down payment on a new house

I've put myself on the list to be notified when certain calibers become available from Academy and Midway. I did it not so much to buy ammo but to have some idea as to if and when the situation appears to have improved. I've yet to receive an email alert from either of them.

I get notifications every day all day on ammo, powders, bullets and primers. If anyone can’t find what their looking for outside of Retumbo your not looking very hard.

I also thought the ammo run was picking up, but the demand seems to be ever bigger. When you go to Academy, Bass Pro, or Cabelas there is an endless stream of guys stopping in and making a pass by the ammo section. Any time of day.
Academy still has lines 40 people long before opening. Raising prices seems to keep it on the shelf a little longer, but it still disappears.

I remember back in the Obama days putting my name on the list for several calibers with many online stores. Most I never heard from, some sent me an "in stock" email three years later.

Almost all the third party ammo for sale online is brand new modern packaging. Kinda funny how the manufacturers change their artwork during shortages.

I know of some people that ended up with 100k of .22 during the last run, they choked pretty hard on it. They were in ~12-13 cents when it went back to $.04. And if you can't blame both the buyers and the scabs, I don't know what to tell you. The scabs are perpetuating the scarcity by clearing out the stores on a daily basis; supply lines hammered by COVID have no shot at catching up. But now the store-side is charging higher prices, the scabs are reluctant to pay 60-70 cents if they can only make a few bucks per box. Suddenly that three-hour wait in line has a real cost and a crappy ROI.

Seriously people only want to stock pile so much ammo. There isn't a chance in hell that people started wiping the shelves of ammo because they started shooting 100% more etc.

Its only a matter of time and people will stock pile what they want and it will return to normal or the new normal, but it will be in stock again. I have enough to see me through to the other side and I wont dream of buying a single grain of powder, bullets, primers, or loaded ammo till its normal again. People are stupid. Comparing us to sheep is insulting to the sheep.
