but I strongly applaud them for holding ammo prices to reasonable levels. I happened across a box of Winchester, 170-grain, 30-06 loads earlier this week, knowing a good friend had been looking for a box for several months. $18.99 plus tax for the box. They also had Winchester 333 bricks of 22LR for $18.95. I recently saw these same bricks listed online at a gun store for twice that price. I can't believe the gun store was having to pay that much more than Walmart for the same box of ammo.

I haven’t seen a box of ammo at Walmart in months that wasnt shotguns shells. I need those too but I’d like to have a better cushion for when I start chasing hogs again soon

Since they folded to the gun grabbers and took all “assault” ammo and pistol ammo out I have no reason to even look at their ammo section.

Some gun stores are buying from other gun stores... Just this week, I saw a guy from Kansas using his FFL to buy Glocks from a local store. I'm sure they are also buying from WalMart or Academy.

They succumbed to pressure and took anything firearm-wise off the shelf that looked menacing to politicos.

Then they discontinued sales of almost all forms of volume-use ammo.

After all that they just plain stopped selling ammo at all (here). The Gainesville Walmart is the only one in Cooke County and has had no ammo for a year.

A need for permission before sharing a response was not written or implied in my OP.

I will not do business with Walmart. The reasons are too numerous to list.

I was in a local Wal-Mart a couple of months ago. the gun counter had a large sign that proclaimed that they did not sell any "AR ammunition !
On the shelf behind the sign sat 2 boxes of .350 Legend.
I really wanted to alert someone ...But I thought Naaahhh they just don't get it. I just grinned really big and went on my merry way.

I can't honestly blame them. They had a mass shooting in one of their stores. Given the stupid litigiousness of American society, why open yourself up to a multi-billion dollar lawsuit when you make just about jack-squat selling the small amount of ammo (per store) that they do? It could be a major headache for a minor amount of convenience for a very small portion of their shoppers.

Bought two boxes of FGMM 168’s below retail from ole Wally World. They’re still priced at 26.97, actually being able to buy them when they get shipped is the tough part.

I shop there - spend many thousands every year. They have good prices and quality that's acceptable usually. I usually go to academy or LGS for ammo/guns.
