It's called BBQ shrimp,, has nothing to do with BBQ -------------large shrimp WITH HEADS ON,,, lay flat in pan ( 1 layer only) add 2 sticks of button . add 1/2 can of pepper. Put in oven on broil for 3 minutes ----- take out, flip shrimp over ( like pancakes) , add another stick of butter and the rest of the can of black pepper. 3 more minutes and you're done.
Dip your hot french bread in the butter / shrimp juice sauce as you eat the shrimp ---------
shrimp, butter, pepper ------------ 6 minutes.
Most common mistakes ----- not enough pepper, and overcooking the shrimp. If you over cook the shrimp they will be hard to peel.

Another dish that is similar and very tasty is NEW ORLEANS BBQ SHRIMP. There again no BBQ sauce or BBQ process involved. It uses butter, Worchestire sauce and spices to make a flavorful sauce for the dish.
