I'm considering seeing a lease North of Wichita Falls, TX. I was wondering how the hunting is in the area. This is on the Texas side of the Red River. All I have ever done in that area is dove hunt and the dove hunting has been great.
I know there is a lot of dove there during dove season. How are the Whitetail? Are there high numbers of deer? Big bodies? Big antlers? Mule Deer? Pigs, turkey, ducks, geese, sandhill? Just trying to get some ideas of the area before I go look at the places available there. Thanks for any input you are willing to share.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

You’d have to go a bit further north for mules . Whitetail are average size and plentiful , lot of pigs and some rattle snakes

Should be some good bucks up that way and maybe some javelina, have seen them just outside of WF . Plenty of hogs too. Check on if you can hunt cranes where the lese is, they use the River. Duck hunting along the Red can be great too.

I hunt that area. Deer can be big! Lots of pigs, waterfowl and plenty of snakes too.

Ask for recent game cam images from the person leasing the property.

If you get along the river; they’re big.
