I’m trying to not call the man to get my well fixed. Short story is the power blackouts turned the heat lamp off in the well box, and the top side got frozen up. Busted the PVC post pressure tank and also blew a galvanized union.

For the life of me I cannot get the old, broken union off the nipple. Nor can I get the nipple off to replace both. Thoughts on what to do here? Half tempted to replace the whole darn thing — pressure tank, bibs, and pipe. No clue where to get the 2 way with pressure taps though.

You are absolute, positively. Nuts if you try to replace that tank by yourself. It is a two man job. Check your Home Owners insurance.

Guessing at sizes but

1x1x1/2 tee , 1"x 2" nipple , 1x1x1/2 tee would replicate existing, providing there is room. If no room, pressure taps can be plumbed to remote location.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Tees will replicate manifold in black circle. But you could relocate down steam to red arrow, if needed.

Is other half of union good?

How would tees work to replace the manifold given the pressure gauge and switch? I’m all for learning, just lost thinking through it. Here is a different picture for orientation

The fitting coming off the well pipe is good to put a union back on it

I would do something like this.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Option 2. Move switch tap close to tank. Depends on what fittings you can find in stock.

Call your insurance company, that’s to much for one person to handle.

couple of 36" pipe wrenches and a squirt of penetrant should get that union off easy peasy
- or an angle grinder most of way thru - careful not to hit threads - then pipe wrenches or chisel/hammer.

I'd trash everything past that last downward elbow and replace from there with something in the link below that sizes to what you have, I'd probably replace that small tank as well.

These are what you're looking for

I'd get one that has a union to the tank. You can also add a union if you need between the rusty galv elbow and new "T" setup

May want to check that flow valve since you're almost down to that point anyway
