TurkeyHunters thread got me to thinking about this. What bars do you remember going to when you were single?

I started going to bars when I was 16 or 17, stopped when I got married at 39, spent way to many nights and way to much $$ in them every week.

To many to list but a few favorites.

Country & Western went to a whole bunch of them but my favorites were.

Top Rail use to manage Dallas Gentlemen’s club (Topless) across the street, it was a great place to take a break.
Borrowed Money younger crowd but very nice eye candy
Cowboys Gaston Ave took dance lessons there on Sundays.
Stampede met my wife there 1993 or 1994
Good Luck Rodeo. it was Midnight Rodeo when I went there 1980.
Debonair Danceland couple of blocks away from my best friends house in the late 70's
Longhorn Ballroom 1975 or 6, best ballroom brawl I have ever been in or seen.
Gilleys Pasadena early 1980’s when I lived in Houston

Rock & Roll did not hang out there to much, two places that were interesting
Mother Blues way cool place in the 70's with great tunes, I was a little to straight.
Silver Dollar Saloon. Operation Reciprocity.

Disco Ducking.
Travis Street Electric. Co. Always a lot of partying, loving and fighting.

#3 Lift POS Tony Dorsett use to run up $300 + bar bills regularly and never tip. Tony usually went to the back bar where a very cool bartender named Sammy worked, one night Sammy asked him why he never tips, TD cold cocks him
One other very funny notable instance. A pretty good friend who I almost locked horns with at first meet got arrested for being him and kept making sexual request from the arresting female Police Officer, did not work out to well for him

43 and single. Lots of things to see

Oh goodness...If I only had invested my alcohol money into something besides booze I'd be a wealthy man many times over. Glad to say I now only have A drink maybe a couple times per year. I only remember some bar names from overseas.

Mostly hotel bars when I was traveling.

Dad used to take me to the bars, pawn shops and liquor stores he owned from age seven, got an education in human nature pretty early.

Dang snake probably seen you in there. Being an ex bull rider been in a bunch of bars all over Texas and other states.

That's good stuff Sir, similar situation here. Dad started and ran the first Burglar Alarm business in my neck of the woods. Everything was of course analog back then. He built all of the Control Panels for the Police Department to patch into his system. I thought I was a mini cop watching my old man hooking up all those wires and putting buttons/switches/lights in Control Panels, Dad was ex LEO too. He used to take me along in his Suburban "collecting" from the local bars & some businesses at night because they hadn't paid their bills. Again everything back then was analog and businesses had visible Red & Green lights outside the front door to indicate status. Dad always told me to watch for the lights by the doors. Dad made me stay in the truck whenever he went into a bar to collect payment. I saw some chi chi's outside and at 6-7 yrs old, they got my attention. Dad got back into the truck and told me to zip that money up into the money bag. I said Yes Sir. Then he said boy, you're acting different right now. What did you see? Said I saw titties Daddy, right there in front of the truck that lady pulled up her shirt. Been hooked ever since.

Never drove by one even after I was married. From here to yonder. Still pull into one every now and then.

The Library was so close to the gray bar motel, there was a pretty decent chance of getting a drunk there without them throwing up in the back seat.

Borrowed Money brings back memories. We used to all get off at 11, rush there every Thursday Friday Saturday nights.
Fish in a barrel.

We worked across the street from it, so it was a convenient place, after work.

I'm guessing that would be the Petroleum Building.
