Nice flock, I have actually shot Turkey from the car out in a pasture during the last week of season in Texas and driven within 20 yards of others in the truck on the lease, some times they are just dumb all the have to work with is bird brain and we know calling someone a "bird brain" is not generally co complement.

I've seen this so many times myself. They do know.

Kind of like dove have a secret power to make it rain September 1st.

My BIL called yesterday and talked about one eating out of his hand.

There's about a dozen more to the left out of the picture and 6 or so to the right.
They've really thrived here- big trees on the creek to the left of the picture where they roost every night. During the course of the year they move up and down the creek a fair bit, but they always stay here during Sept-May.
Some people like them a lot, but they are a nuisance during deer season. Run from feeder to feeder cleaning up. You can come out of the blind and down the ladder and they'll leave, then come back 10 minutes later like it's a whole new day.

Bow hunting in King county many years ago and had about that many come in. I was in a tripod, with no front cover and only a cedar behind. With that many eyes, when I tried to draw my bow, it was game over.

Can you hunt from a vehicle in Texas even in a pasture?/ Thought what was illegal....

My thought, too.

As long as you are not on a public road or right-of-way and have permission to hunt the property it is LEGAL.

Unlawful Activities

"hunt any wild animal or wild bird, including exotic animals, on foot or from a vehicle on any public road or road right- of-way, or a boat on public water, except that migratory waterfowl may be hunted from a boat or any floating craft (except a sinkbox) under certain conditions.

Unlawful Activities Link

I always heard it is illegal in a pasture, dirt road..if you are shooting dove on your tailgate you can get in trouble.

Non-migratory (I have chicken scratch mixed with corn in the feeders), so the Feds can suck it!
