Saw a small sounder out in a field and started stalking them. 3 mamas with 3 litters. Part way through the stalk a low spot opened up in the field and there were pigs everywhere, making for some tough decisions. I decided to work on sows with piglets first. 2 CNS hits, 2 sows down in the first 3-4 seconds, and whacked a couple piglets that were easy targets of opportunity. Then I swung around 90 degrees and picked up a pretty decent boar off the outside edge (182lbs). He took several rounds and wasted some time, by that point it was just running piglets left so I shot out the mag on them. 9 down out of a complete rodeo, I feel pretty good about that.

I was stupid though and forgot to hit record. Too bad, because it was pretty brutal.

Got to try out my new Two Vets tripod and 55 ball head with ARCA mount, really like the new setup. Light, fast, solid.

6.5 Grendel, Thermion XQ50, 95 VMAX.

Too bad no video, but the final results look to be outstanding!

I actually have "some" video. Before I started the last round of football popping I remembered and finally hit the record button. Just like maybe 3-4 running piglets on the video. One is an endo dome shot though. I do have a video of the field full of pigs during our stalk. Big group of pigs to the east (left) but most of them were smaller 50-80 lb pigs, with several good ones mixed in. There was a group of 4 sows up on the hill to the right though, with 3 litters of piglets. The 4 sows with piglets is where we started. Buddy was shooting a 308 and get several hits, but nothing dropped in the field. Everything in the pile I shot.

Excellent!

Thanks for the comments guys.

That was a fun stalk, lots of targets. Stupid me did not buckle on my battle belt when we left the truck because we thought it was just the 4 sows. 26 rounds should be plenty, right? Therefore no extra mags, no reloads. I know better but got lazy and that second sounder threw a wrinkle in things. For sure I could have got 1-2 more of the piglets when they bunched up after we were both empty.

It is ok though. I have about 3000 acres to hunt these on, and plenty of time. They are hungry. I will catch them again soon on this field or another one.
