I’ve been wanting to get out for a while now, so I grabbed a rod and headed to the neighborhood ponds. Struck smooth out... not even a bite. Normally I would at least see minnows in the shallows, some fish swirls, or something. Not this time. I’m hoping that cold didn’t wreck them, but I’m not sure.

You guys had any luck since the cold spell?

They are not biting in my pond. Not even a nibble or turtle.

It’s strange for sure. Maybe the water temp is still to cold is all I can think.

My stuff is packed up and the boat's ready to go however I got my second COVID shot yesterday(mandatory for my job on Fort Hood) and even though I'm ready to go the body's not quite ready.

A buddy of mine put the hammer down on the crappie this past weekend in Garrison.

I'm going to go see if the white bass are getting active again on the Neches tomorrow morning. Caught a bunch of small males before the cold weather came. Water temp should be back up closer to the 50s + increasing day length & moon phase - ought to be good fishing.

Bass are biting like crazy on our 2 stock tanks.

Mainly bass in these small ponds by my house. Last year I could catch about 20 or more when I would go. Figured they may be deep and sluggish to react, so I fished a small swim bait real slow. Hoping things will improve again when the water temps rise a bit.

I might give it a try this weekend if its not too windy. Been seeing some trucks parked at the usual creeks where the Sandbass run but I doubt they are catching much yet. By this time next week I expect quite a few males to be showing up in the creeks and females not far behind. Once that starts to happen the Bass will start to move up as well. Not sure what I will target this weekend but I am sure I will be trying to catch something that swims.

I'm chomping at the bit wanting to get out. Hopefully, in 3 weeks when I get my knee better I can get to my slip.

They’ve been biting like crazy at every tank we’ve fished from Cisco to Graham since the ice melted. The Floridas may take a while to bite but the natives are hungry. First pic is at my place, the second is at a buddy’s.

nice mess of perch colt, that there is some good eatin. i was going to leave the boat at home and go walk a couple creeks checking the crappie. was going to see if greg wanted to tag along but you know how those bass guys are, lol, they get mad when those succulent bass become table food

Gonna give it another week for water to warm up and try the catfish on the pines. Started catching them last year the 2nd week of March. A buddy of mine went Tuesday caught 1 lost one and had a few more bites.

I fished on the Colorado River yesterday just east of Marble Falls. Not a bite in 2 hours. But another week or two of warm weather and the whites should be running.
