I have a free range nilgai hunt booked for march down in Raymondville and was just curious what else beside nilgai and natives run wild in the area. I have already spoken with my outfitter about what he expects us to see but im just curious what y'all think?

It sounds like a veritable bucket list location, on par with Rome, Paris, Athens and Barcelona. How many five star hotels are there in the area?

Not much in Raymondville itself to see. Of course The King Ranch headquarters and store are in Kingsville, as for wildlife turkey, javelina, hogs

I hunted the Yturria last year near Raymondville and apart some great Nilgai we saw a lot of waterbuck, scimitar horned oryx, javelina and some damn fine South Texas whitetail deer.

It’s what you won’t see that counts. Traffic, skyscrapers, big box stores, crowds. Enjoy your time and get you a big blue bull.

bassmaster 34, you might want to press your outfitter for some clarity on the health of the nilgai population. I just had a hunt cancelled, outfitter told me that the mature bull population has been absolutely and totally decimated. they fared worse than younger bulls and cows, presumably due to the fact that they were rutted down. some of those ranches have good populations on oryx...hoping you have the option to hunt something else if what I hear about nilgai is true...

This. Heard reports that the H. Yturria ranch in Raymondville lost a ton of Nilgai.

This exactly. I had one booked the 20th and asked about rescheduling in March and the outfitter said to hold off.
