Came across this during deer season. Its off out in the middle of nowhere at least 800 yards from the nearest pasture road. No sign of any type of human activity around it. For reference, the pile is about 3 feet tall. The only big animals on the ranch are cattle and there was some old cow patties around, but I've never seen one uproot plants and make a pile out of them. Maybe a hog, although they're pretty scarce around there (thankfully) and they don't usually pile stuff up. Plus the ground wasn't really disturbed. Looked more like it had been scraped off. What does the brain trust say?

Could the scrape and piled up brush be coincidental, and not related? Dead brush blown by the wind ends up there. Just happens to be a place where the deer create a scrape.

That would be a LONG walk. It's about 10 miles to a paved road and at least 3 miles to the nearest locked gate.
