We pay $100 a week. I’m trying to get her to come twice a week for $100 a trip but she has too many clients. Not bad for a 3300 square foot house. She’s been cleaning my house since the early 2000’s.

Merry Maids costs twice as much as the highest cost cleaning lady I have ever used. Not worth it unless it is a corporate commercial property.
You need a cleaning lady. Doc is the only one on here who had a maid (or with him also a nanny). Maids come every day, or at least several times a week. Maid can also do meal prep. Do not pull a Jerry Seinfeld episode called The Maid..... and your wife will kill you.
Cleaning ladies come once a week or every other week. Their duties vary. Pay is dependent on how much you want done and legal status. Not kidding. In Ohio, illegals were not Hispanic, but Polish.
Our cleaning lady cleans our entire house (4000') at a base line, does the laundry, cleans the punch list I leave her, and bitches about the commies taking over our government. She just got her citizenship last year. She is from Argentina.
It costs $160 a week and she arrives at 8AM and leaves when she is done. 12:30-1:30. We overpay her, but she said my wife set the price. She does not steal and I have tested her. Maids are fine, but a house manager is where it’s at. I met a “house manager” that worked for an oil tycoon that lived in Saudi Arabia but owned a house in Preston Hollow. He also owned 7 very high end cars that the HM had to drive and maintain. The HM took care of the house, lived in the house, did the personal shopping for the family, and was getting paid $60,000 a year. All that for the owner to visit 2 weeks a year. I’m trying to find a “House Manager” job for retirement.

My house is my sanctuary. I wouldn’t feel comfortable having a stranger in it all the time like that. Maybe I am weird. Same.....

I use the one time handling method. I put it where it belongs if it is in my hand. It is no sorting laundry for me. I do have my carpets professionally cleaned.

I’m the same way but that’s why I found one I can trust and I pay her well so she will stick around. She’s been with us 6-7 years and our kids play together occasionally. Like I mentioned earlier she has a key to our house and also babysits.

We did until COVID. With my wife's suppressed immune system, we cancelled the service.

Just be aware that you might be responsible for withholding social security taxes. Even if you pay cash and not deduct it. There is a racket of people wanting cash for decades, then when it comes time for SS they go back and say they worked at various places for cash, and it was not reported. At that poingt in time it goes to teh IRS, there is NO STATUTE of LIMITATIONS if no return was filed. You land up paying both halves of the SS and a butt load of penalties and interest.
To be safe, use a service, where the owner of the maid service does the withholding etc., You pay more, but the service most likely will have insurance and workman's comp insurance, Do you? Yeah man, it is on the business owner to pay taxes on the money they receive, not the customer. I am a customer, not an employer. Even if it is a sole proprietorship, the owner is responsible for paying taxes.

Get a roomba.... I have one, and it is wonderful..... I have two dogs and two cats, and it does a great job of getting rid of the fur.

Twice a month, $70, small house... it's well worth every penny and much cheaper than a divorce!

Just yesterday, had a client who claimed the big piggy bank he had silver in has recently discappeared. thinks he had in excess of 10K in it. He can only think of the new maid.
Shame

Years ago, many years ago, when I lived in El Paso I had a maid that would not only clean the apartment, but do the laundry, ironing and dishes. She came twice a week for $40 total. Precious lady would always leave a dozen homemade tamales. Yes she was Mexican National and had 5-6 clients in El Paso. Probably made 20X what she could in Juarez.

Texas art, landscapes, culture, mainly from Texas artist. Texas art crosses over a little with western art, so I have a little bit of western art. I like your buddy's art, water color?

That’s cool. Not sure if water color or not. I know he only uses the same colors on all his paintings though.
Edit: they are acrylics
