Time to upgrade my Luppy BX-4's. I was pretty set on the swaro SLC until i heard they're discontinuing.

$1500 max is my budget......and I cant bring myself to pay a grand for Chyna stuff with rattling eyecups. Any better options that I missed?

I can get them from Doug for $899 each to my door. ( That price is for (2) pair)

Wouldn't try to talk you out of either, as they are both excellent glass. Great price on the Leica, and the cheapest I have seen the Swaro's is $1399. You need to look thru them however, and see which fits your eye and style of glassing better. I love my SLC's and wouldn't change a thing. Several of my friends have the Trinovids, and when we all sit down together we swap and nit-pick each other. Personally, I see better with the SLC's and feel they are warmer and have an advantage seeing greens and yellows. My friends all seem to pick up gray and blue tones, and I don't see deer as good in them. HBD, Merry Xmas, and just because you want them, to you!! smile

I have both, a Leica 8x42 and the Swaro 10. I much prefer the Leica. I also have a smaller Swaro, and both pairs have had issues and needed factory repair. (The service was excellent). But the Leica is older, used and abused more, and its bombproof. Plus I prefer the 8 power over the 10. The lesser magnification has never been a problem at the distances I hunt, whereas the wider field of view is better for scanning. Guess if I were out west, the 10 power may be better.
But when I hunt, it’s the Leica that I prefer.

I own three Leica rifle scopes and think the glass is just terrific.

Surprised by your list, but don’t doubt your judgement.

The direct to consumer model companies are very strong in the upper mid market 800-1200 range.

When swaro has to replace the King EL’s with the new King NL PURE, it means competition was getting fierce

JG Raider is Bino obsessed. Good person to listen too. I bought the Tract Toric on his recommendation and it’s amazing for the money.

You shouldn't be, trinivid is their base price point model essentially.

Only two noted I haven't touched is Tract and Nikon. With that said I can see it being true. Rest are spot one.

the SLC <56mm is essentially gone because it wasn't competitive in the upper mid any more out side of big obj. The 15x SLC are still top dog in the 15x’s, but it's a very narrow gap, and I suspect swaro releases a 15x pure in next 12months.

Now if this was a Noctivid post, I wouldn't necessarily say the list is better but I say try them to make sure you felt the extra 1000 was worth it.

Of course this is my opinion from side by side use and other may see things differently.

Tract toric would be my vote but everything I’ve looked through like wise has impressed.

Thanks, I'll check out the Meopta's. up

I scratched the swaro's off the list because they are being discontinued ( that's what I read on Rokslide )
I didn't care for the Maven's. Big & heavy, didn't fit my hands. Not 100% sure they were that model, but they were in the $1K price range.

Had some warranty issues with a Nikon scope and rangefinder. Done with them

Never heard of the over ones confused2

Probably the Maven B2’s. They are lot bigger frame then B1. I second you on nikon.

If you can find a pair of SLC’s on clearance <1100’ish I wouldn't hesitate to buy them. Swaro will still support under warranty

I researched the heck out of them....never saw anything definitively negative that would change my mind. Coming from Bushnell>Nikon>Vortex>Leupold.......I think I'll be happy for many years.

In my opinion for 1000.0o or just under Trinovids are the best bunk out there.

Are you talking spotting scope? It's a decent scope for short glassing sessions with a good warranty
