All I just mailed my first in state shotgun via the USPS, it took 2 trips to the USPS till they figured it out.
Below picture is from the USPS manual explaining the process. You may want to keep this handy for future reference.
Good part is you can mail any rifle or shotgun to an out of state FFL Dealer then back to you without paying for an FFL transfer fee (see item D).
Now we're all on the same page.

So many USPS workers don't know the rules within their own organization.

They suck at their job.

I mailed a Remmy 700 to Maryland (FFL) a couple months ago. My USPS seems to be the only one in the know of what they're supposed to do.

I found that shipping a long gun to granddaughter in Washington State required pretty heavy taxes and too many interested parties. Pretty liberal there.

So, I took it with me when I visited there. Nuff said.

My problem is USPS loses or steals my packages I send out. Yep, lost another one last week.

Pass the gravy.

Same here.....200 pieces of brass: email from USPS said it was being shipped, 2 day Priority Mail, on 2/18. It is now 2/26, there have been no updates online since 2/23 when it said (and still does) package en route to next destination.

But yet everyone keeps using them because they are cheap. Well, you get what you pay for. They are a waste of resources and money. Antiquated!
