I've been carrying a similar sized GP100 in a DeSantis thumb break for years in the woods. At the $54 price listed above it is a great value. Heck, I am about to order one for my SS MR918, and I've never carried it OWB.

I carry a GP in mine too.

After having the desantis for the GP and a Bianchi 77 for my 1911, I have to admit that I am a fan of the pancake OWB holsters. IMO they're the most comfortable style available.

I still have leather from them, that is still like new, that I wore when working up until 2000. Great gear.

What's the barrel length?

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I’ve got a Galco thumb break I use for a 5” 1911. Desantis is the other one I thought about.

What size barrel? I've carried a 5" blackhawk for years, but I've recently switched to a cross draw "Doc Holliday" style holster for ranch duty. It helps keep the barrel out of the way when sitting in the stand or on the tractor. When I'm carrying a smaller gun I really like the pancake style holsters.

I have found that holsters are one of those you get what you pay for things. Buy once cry once! (I have a drawer full of holsters, anyone else?🤣). And a good gun belt/holster combo makes a long day a lot more comfortable.

I have a Turner for a 1911 and while a quality holster for a reasonable price the fit and finish is not the same as a higher end gun leather.

Look at a Milt Sparks IBAK or #200AW. I find a Baker or pancake style more comfortable for a big revolver. It keeps it tight and fairly high riding. I have a 55BN and a summer special for 1911 and an original Baker pancake style.

Sparks Leather

Wright and Andrews Gunleather are also top notch.

Galco and DeSantis holsters are ok for occasional use but the lighter weight leather flexes more and the belt slots deform/stretch. El Paso and Kirkpatrick are definitely a step up.

The only gun belts I wear now are Kore Essentials. I have tried quite a few and have had some really good ones.
