I'm about to put my house on the market. 2 story house on 5 acres with detached 2 car garage/guest quarters/pool/barn. Am now living above my means and need to get out from under it/need major downsize and a reset in life. I will live out of my 35' RV for a while. Let me know if interested.

Interest rate up. Stock prices will go down. Sell now buy back low.

We have been in historic mortgage interest rate lows for years now. Folks are holding on to their low interest rate mortgage, seeing the appreciation (sic property tax valuation) and holding out. But due to COVID and job impact some are selling. Really unfortunate. Be very interesting to see what the Fed Reserve does over the next few months after another couple trillion hits the deficit.

We are trying to downsize, but try finding a house in East Frisco or West McKinney (where we want to move) that has a garage deep enough for my 19'+ Ranger. Most won't even fit my 2500 GMC (20' garage vs. 20'4" truck). We have submitted one contract in several months of looking and I was going to have to cut out the garage door to have it fit over my boat tongue.
Just hoping we can sell our house and buy cheap enough where it is no more mortgage anyway.

Good luck Skinner, I hope it sells fast. Also, mortgage rates aren't the only thing going up...democratic control, this is just the beginning...oh and don't look at gas and diesel either

yep...........real gas at 239 today in Kingston.......jumped 40 cents since end of November.
They said EV car sales would go up 71 percent this year...........now that might mean they just sell 1000 more cars, I don't know.

yep...........real gas at 239 today in Kingston.......jumped 40 cents since end of November. I made note on Nov 15th I filled up for 1.57 a gal here in McKinney. That’s an $0.82 increase. Crazy. As for the housing market, I agree. Extremely low inventory right now. If priced right homes only last a few days and have multiple offers. Some receiving $20-40k over what the banks will lend based on appraisal. It can be hard to have an offer accepted if it’s contingent upon other factors (like selling your current home) because there are so many people wanting in the area who are ready with the cash in hand. We are trying to downsize, but try finding a house in East Frisco or West McKinney (where we want to move) that has a garage deep enough for my 19'+ Ranger. Just a thought, but have you considered building? Maybe expanding your search a little to include Prosper? I focus on new construction and would be more than happy to try and help you find something. There’s some great new master planned communities just North of 380. Should you get the itch to see what’s out there, here is a link that will show you all the new construction for whatever area you are looking. Good luck, and y’all let me know if I can ever help. https://www.showingnew.com/greghorn
