Where are the baseball fans here? I know it was a very poor start for the big 12 this past weekend. On a higher note my Hurricanes took 2 of 3 from Florida...FINALLY winning a series they use to dominate. Gino DiMare becoming the skipper a couple years ago is just what Miami needed to get back amongst the elites of college baseball, with all due respect to Jim Morris.
As far as the big 12, I root for TCU because I respect what Schlossnagle has done there and West Virginia for Randy Masey

They will probably get more viewers after March Madness. Especially in this area because Baylor is highly ranked.

Surprising for Tech to say the least, given they haven't won a game. I think some of you need to check your ranking sources. My Bulldogs have only lost one game so far this season. And yes, the SEC thumped the Big 12 big time this past weekend in Arlington. The Tea Sips left town 0-3 as well. D1 NCAA Current Baseball Rankings

I believe Ole Miss jumped to # 1 in some polls. I'm pulling for West Virginia to make some noise. Masey is a great coach but WV is a limiting factor program. If you recall TCU best years was when Schossnagle had Masey and Todd Whitting (Houston head coach now) as assistance. Both left to be head coaches and TCU while still a top program cannot duplicate those years.
The best college ball is clearly in the southeastern part of the country, I believe 15-17 teams that are ranked in top 25, are sec or acc. What happened in Arlington this past weekend was without arguably the sec's top 2 programs....Florida/Vandy
But the CANES are back!

But the CANES are back! Way to early to tell anything about the 'Canes or anyone else for that matter. The SEC is an excellent baseball conference no doubt. One could say the "best" college baseball is played in any warm weather environment from SoCa, Arizona, TX, etcl all the way across the US east to west into Florida. Teams that can practice outside most days, while the Northern teams are working out in some gym for the next month, is a huge advantage.

But the CANES are back! Yes, I'm sure there are many schools in the South that are getting full workouts when many of the schools in colder climates still have snow covering their fields. Granted, the NCAA has rules that are intended to equalize the practice field, but that doesn't hold back the younger kids in the South who are in their development years. Besides, I'll take baseball over hockey any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Teams that can practice outside most days, while the Northern teams are working out in some gym for the next month, is a huge advantage. Well I have to call it....CANES are back lol. Some history....Miami RULED college ball for years. And if not for some heroics (LSU hitting a dam grand slam in the 9th with 2 outs to beat Miami for the title) the canes would have even more trophies in their display case.....but thats water under the bridge. In 2008 a major shift happened in Florida....Gino retired as an assistant with Miami and the Gators hired Sullivan. Again, with all respect to Jim Morris he was past his prime and Gino was the key Imo to Miami's program. The tides turned in the state of Florida and college baseball for that matter. With Gino back as the head coach now last year we saw the "turn" changing for the canes and with this series win against the gators ( it seems the winner of this series, always played early in the year sets the stage up for the season) ..... The CANES are back.
