Yes, we're using any suitable bullet we can obtain to keep ammo available. We'll have a bunch of Speer 110gr SP HOT-CORE available soon. Probably the next load to be available will be the 135gr HAM'R BONDED. We're in good shape on cases, great shape on powder/primers, but bullets are tough to get now. Trust me, we have two MK7 Revolution machines dedicated to HAM'R ammo and we're loading ammo 5 days a week and filling orders as fast as we can!

In addition Sig has shipped 125gr Sierra PH ammo to distributors like Davidson's so this should show up at dealers soon.

Bill please ask Hornady to make WC 50k 30303's 150gr SSTs. I'll buy 2k from WC smile That's the one last bullet I want to get my mits on, and I don't think we'll see any for a long long time. I'm currently working on cast boolit loads to conserve the Factory ones. So far 1.3" @ 50yd and a handful of 2.5" @ 100yd are the best groups. A lot more testing to be done, but so far Crazy good and safe velocities.

I just had to trade 1k CCI 300's for 800 - 450's. I've already gone through a brick of 450's with my 2 HAM'Rs. I hope to find more before I have to resort to regular small rifle or have to shell out $260/1k.

I just realized Academy has been unloading their trucks that have ammo directly to the front registers and of the 3 I stopped by today haven't seen reloading components in 5 weeks. Even with a 2 box limit, long lines in the cold weather, and higher prices.. All of it's still sold out in hours!

I hope all of you Texan's are doing alright after that mess ya'll just went through.

I was excited to see the picture in the Sig Catalog. This cartridge deserves widespread adoption. I’m assuming distribution will be online as opposed to stores?

I placed an order for my fave round - the 130gr hot cor - and don’t care how long it takes. It’s such a great round for hogs.

I think there are a lot of people that are missing out on the defensive capability of the 300 ham'r round. I have been very pleased with my testing of the 300 ham'r in 8", 11.5", and 16" barrels.

This little fella is only 19.5" end to end including muzzle device and sends a 110gr Hornady SP out at a little over 2350fps.

Awesome performance for such a compact and lightweight package and it doesn't limit your magazine capacity as some of the other larger AR cartridges do.

Thanks Bill - this is a very underrated cartridge in my opinion!

I don't know if Sig plans to sell online, I do know they are selling to distributors so it will be available to dealers.

What brace is that and does it extend?

Also which buffer is that? The shortest I was aware of was Strike Industries Pistol Buffer (https://www.strikeindustries.com/si-ar-spre-slick.html).

Here it is:

Yes, it extends to regular length

Thanks, Now I see it has the bar only on one side. From the picture above I didn't see the extension bar on the other side.

The 300 HAM'R requires a stronger buffer spring to avoid beating on your receiver extension and shoulder. Does the kit offer a heavier spring?

Comes with 2 springs. I am using the standard spring with no issues so far after about 500 rounds.

Lets make sure that the guy that just reads bits and pieces of this thread understands the above is ONLY concerning the pistol brace kit mentioned..

Definitely! Thanks for sticking this in there.

The standard spring for 223 with this brace works no problem with 300 ham'r just as a standard buffer spring works with a conventional stock/brace

Midsouth was allowing backorders on that bullet 2 weeks ago.

I had been scrambling to find something better than 125gr prohunters for hogs. I had been disappointed in 125gr TNT on my last trip after I had several blow up on impact leaving large entry wounds but not tearing up vitals well.

I had one mag of the TNT left I was coyote hunting with when I got into a sounder about 125yds away. The bullets performed real well there with some good exit wounds on 4 pig ranging from 120-170#. The hogs I tested it on prior were similar sized and all 35-50yds so im "assuming" the TNT bullets liked the velocity loss and allowed them to stay intact for the longer shots.

Because some wacko had the TX thermostat last week I only shot 1 hog after the weather hit.

200# boar was shot with the Speer 2022 150gr SPBT at about 100yds.
1st shot dropped it with no expansion on the pass through an inch in front of the hams. When he got up after a few seconds & tried to drag off on his front legs I put one through the shoulder that had a good entry wound into the near side chest wall approximately the size of a silver dollar and a small exit hole in the far side chest wall that was perfectly round & appeared to be minimal bullet diameter. Id guess the only thing that exited was the base of the projectile. It had enough mass and energy that when it exited the hide it hit the humerus hard enough to fracture it & dislocate it from the radius.

If I knew how to post pics I'd ask for opinions on these projectile performances.

Posting photos here is super easy, click the "upload inline images" button between the "insert image link" and "insert media tag" in the top bar, it's pretty self explanatory from there

I was scanning Midways website a few minutes ago and noticed that they are offering 300 HAM'R Starline brass. And it is in stock now. Now if they would only have bullets!

The last thing I got from Midsouth (.314" Lee sizer) that was "In Stock" took 8 weeks to get! Partially them, partially shipping time.. But @ 41¢ (tax/shipping) a bullet on "Back Order" I bet I'd get them cheaper and faster just waiting for someone else smile

Also, I've found absolutely no need for stronger springs or heavier buffers due to the midlength gas system on my 16.2's.. I'd almost still believe it'd be unnecessary on carbine length.

Not entirely correct. Bill Wilson was recommending a 40-coil flatwire buffer spring sold on his website for the 8" barrel for sure and in some instances the 11" barrel.

Range 125yds
150gr Speer SPBT #2022 @ 2270fps

It didn't leave an optimal exit hole but it had enough mass and velocity to bust up the far side shoulder pretty well and exit the hide.

Not a drop of external blood could be found until full day & a half later when I pumped the chest with my boot & got some seepage out all 4 holes.

They only show a 37 coil on the web site. Did I miss something? Have a 11.3" barrel coming so I would like to be prepared.
