Have a couple busted pipes at the pump house that need to be addressed, and apparently I'm not the only one judging by the local Home Depot. Tomorrow will be day 7 without water & it's kinda getting old but it could've been worse

Same deal here. Looks like I'll be going thru the sheetrock behind it.
Pool is still frozen so won't know on that for a few days.

Was yours also a hose left connected in it during freeze?

It is mostly over for me. I slept with the heat of last night. The only problem I have this morning is I am almost blinded by the sun.

No hose was off and on the south side between the house and detached garage. Had a faucet insulator over it too, so didn't think it would be a problem. Only one that froze. I cant get to mine from inside. It is behind the kitchen cabinets and the water heater. Have to pull the siding

thx for the reply - I can only imagine that it must have already frozen with water in it when hose was disconnected and cover put on it.
Isn't the washer all the way back where the threads are? I'd be interested to see a pic of where it is actually split/cracked?

Sorry I'm asking so many questions, but my house currently doesn't have any 'to the outside' spigots thru the walls, but I was planning on installing some of these 'freeze proof' ones,
they are quite expensive - and if they do still have problems (really deep freeze like this one),
just want to make sure I take all situations into consideration, so your responses are really helping - thanks!

We northerners like the first good winter freeze for killing the mosquitoes, spiders, wasps, hornets, flies, gnats, and about every other critter that annoys us. I expect you folks to be too busy with home and ranch repairs to notice them missing.

We never lost power or water so we feel blessed. The water to bathroom sinks in master bedroom froze for one night but toilet and shower worked. The rest of the house was fine however there are three faucets outside and I bet they all froze.Checked on them all day yesterday and none are leaking, could still be froze, but I plan on checking on them today.Dodge is in the barn plugged in and I started it a few days ago and let it run a bit while the suv is sitting out front but it runs so yes,we were darn lucky.

We had the same results. I consider this extremely lucky, or prepared. Longest power outage was Sunday night-Monday morning 3am-11am. After that rolling blackouts no longer than 3 hours. One night it was off/on several times. Never lost water pressure. Lots of folks still having issue with no water around here.

@oldoak2000 The faucet protector and hose detach took place well before freezing temps. I am curious why it froze too.It has been through plenty of low teens but never -2 before. It looks to be installed with the proper draft. I will be interested in what the plumber says,

Those frost proof should be threaded so they can be replaced without removing any building material.

I wish there was something I could do to help out down there. I did what I could, I did make a donation to the Houston food bank but I'm not sure that will help much.

I know a couple of plumbers who are considering heading down to see what they can do. I'm not sure that would even be allowed. I do know that when we had the big forest fires up here a couple of years ago we had fire fighters from south of the border come up and help. A lot of people want to return the favor.

I can't do much, I don't have any applicable skills and my health isn't the best any more. But I'll do what I can.
If nothing else I can pray for everyone down there. It's the least I can do.

Do for yourself as much as you can, eat what nature provides as much as you can. This is the key to sleeping well and living long.

No power, no water for 4.5 days.
No frozen pipes, no ices dams, no problems.
