First time since 1983 that I have been able to walk out onto Lake Ray Hubbard. This is at the Hwy 66 boat ramp and I am standing in about 6’ of water. You could actually walk all the way out past the no wake zone.

I busted my youngest sons arse for walking out onto my tank the other day. Looks like a good way to drown.

I don't go out on the ice until you can measure the thickness in FEET, instead of inches!!

A buddy of mine lost one his cows a couple of days ago when it walked out onto the surface of a tank and broke through. No coming back from that...

The ice was thick enough people were driving ATV’s on it. There was little danger of my 145 pound self breaking through. If you look close you can even see the tire tracks in the snow on the ice.

So far so good only had one cow venture out on the ice, been chopping water for the last 4 days to ensure there drinking. Don't know why they'd go out on it.
Oh I know cows are dumb. hammer

In 1983 a police officer drove his squad car down that boat ramp onto the lake, spun a donut or two and back off the lake.I knew the officer and I saw the pic that his buddy took.

Of course, as he was on duty patrolling the city and the boat ramp was one of his spots to check.

If you're gonna go out on the ice, might as well have something fun to do, and beautiful scenery too!! Hebgen Lake, Montana.

I was just too warm and comfortable to go this morning, but my hunting partner said it was on fire. Nice sized yellow perch may be one of the few fish that rivals crappie in the "great to eat" category.
