I know we aren’t used to snow down here - but if you have a very tight building envelope, a sealed attic (spray foam), and a shingled roof I highly recommend removing the ice dams you’ve got built up - because I can guarantee you’ve got them.
I got a steep pitch roof and it was no fun getting them out of the valleys - but it shouldn’t be hard for anyone to go around the perimeter and break them up. Save yourself an expensive headache.

Good PSA sir, common when we lived in Colorado, if it didnt slide off on its own.
Is it "Ice dam", or "damn ice" guess it depends on the day....

On mobile homes in our northern plants we ran a 3' asphalt starter strip. I cleaned mine up this morning. I have ice below chimney but it is just a narrow piece. Water won't pond behind it. I have a feeling that after next big hail storm the roofers will find some bad decking.
