Had some of those frozen snapper fillets from HEB. Little cajun seasoning, garlic salt, pepper and spray vegetable oil. 10 minutes on 395 which is the highest mine goes. Pretty good. [Linked Image]

So what happens if you batter fish in normal cornmeal etc. and cook it in an "air fryer" does it come out like fried fish?

I tried it. Thing with mine is the fish has to be saturated in oil and so does the meal for it to crisp up. I did some that was pretty good but with all the oil on there I'd just fry them up outside. Baking powder/soda recipes are out there as well I just haven't tried it.

No. I already tried it for you, so I'll save you the time and effort. The air fryer is essentially a mini convection oven It is great for reheating fried fish and chicken, or cooking tots, corn dogs, etc. Basically anything that you would have used a small toaster oven for, but faster because it is convection.

By far the best fried catfish fillets I ever ate were when my wife makes them in the air fryer. Hands down the best way to do fish, imo.
