Hey guys. Former (or always?) Texan here. Born and grew up in Dallas, although that didn’t always feel as “Texas” as a lot of other areas. In any event, I remember some spells of epic winter weather in the late 70s and early 80s in Dallas. Power lines down everywhere, trees cracking and falling over. One storm in particular, thank god for the gas fireplace we had in my parents bedroom, where the entire family slept together to keep warm and my momma was up all night for a week worried about that huge tree in the front yard threatening to crash through the house.

What we went through then was easy street compared to what Texas is going through now. So that’s the long way around to saying that my heart goes out to Texas. Hoping and praying that you and your families stay safe.

We are strong. We will survive.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Thanks for thinking of us!

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

My son turned in his two weeks notice. Today was to be his final day. He said he would take the no power, no water, etc. over having to work there his final week.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

Went a couple days without power, not the end of the world. We live, we learn, we move on.
