I also feel for the animals that lost their lives in that cold. Mother nature is normally cruelest to the old, the very young, the weak and the animals that have not adapted to the environment or are not native to the region. The silver lining in this may be the hardiness of the animals that survived, which may be passed on genetically to their offspring?
