Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Wild! I have been seeing them on the ground in oak motts, especially where there are some downed limbs, which is pretty much everywhere. Great photos as usual!
Adios,

They were down and up by the 4 corners pens this morning.

What's interesting is they're obviously putting off enough heat to melt the snow on them, I suspect them icicles came from water dripping off.

And you know it’s colder up there in the wind.

I was trout fishing in WV. We had a rain storm, or so we thought, come through the last night. We were camping next to the stream and lucky that it did not flood. It got high enough that we had to walk out on the opposite side we came in on. Just 100 to 200 foot of elevation made the difference between ice and rain. We came across a hen that had iced over and fell off the roost. A buddy that lives up there has seen them get a ball of ice on their tail and they can't fly.
