I’m gonna start selling my fence panels marketed as fire wood for about 5 bucks a picket

Since people are willing to pay more for a bottle of water, I would say a stick of firewood for a dollar is a bargain.

Forgot to mention some of these buyers are the same people that are willing to pay $5 for a cup of coffee.

Specialty wood is expensive. rofl

Those fence pickets probably cost that much new theses days, if you can find any.

Man you ain't lying. I thought about selling a bunch of Oak I have split off the highway, but at a regular/fair price. Instead I've been giving it away to folks with no power trying to stay warm.

I cut 3 acres of 6-10" oak two years ago. Been stacked in 16-20 ft logs and I've just been cutting and splitting what I need. I told a bunch of people feel free to come cut and split what they want. No takers. confused2

Texflip, nobody wants to work that hard. As for me, I had put up about 2/3 of what I wanted for NEXT winter, but it’s getting used, and I can cut and split more if I need to.

Much chainsawing is in my near future. Yay me...

Well of course not LOL. I've let one guy come get several loads in the past, he asked if he could come get some more. I said absolutely, but I'm running low on splits right now. Bring your chainsaw and cut/take as much as you want, I'll even help you. Never heard back from him. roflmao

Send those folks down to our farm.
I'll let them cut a whole mesquite tree down for only $1.

Amen. You could. I have a couple cords cut and split in my pasture. Had several people stop wanting to buy. Told them to just take what they need. Hope it helped them stay warm. Some people are struggling right now.

I imagine some entrepreneurs are filling their barns with sheetrock, insulation, pex, etc. etc. etc.

I know there is going to be a shortage of materials and skilled personnel to fix what needs to be fixed. The news is non-stop flood damage and the big thaw hasn't even taken place. About Saturday will be a big reveal.

I know there is on guy on this forum, not going to say his name, but is very generous. He didn’t have my number he reached out to the group I frequently text and asked for my number after my post about wet wood. He offered me to come out and get a truck load out of his barn that was dry. Very awesome people on this forum. Really appreciate the offer but finally got my damp wood to burn so didn’t take him up on the offer but very thankful for the offer.
