Don`t wait till you have a busted pipe to try and figure out where you cut the water main off to your house. If your pipes are frozen, be pre-paired tomorrow or the next day for when they thaw. Several people on social media where I live that have water flooding their home and can`t shut off the water.

I sent pictures and a diagram to one of my wife's employees today. I walked her through the whole thing. my pipes froze and I was prepared. I'll be over-prepared next time.

Everyone should own a curb key.

A lot of new homes are built with a water cutoff in the garage...my house has one. Just one valve cuts off water to the whole house. Definitely nice to have in a time like this...just hoping I don't have to use it.

Yep, y’all keep those valve boxes cleaned out throughout the rest of the year. Close them, open right back up a few times yearly too. Keep them from seizing up on you.

I clamped a cheap set of vice grip pliers on my water main years ago all I have to do is flip the lid and turn no hunting for tools needed.

I know where mine is and how to cut off. I have replaced both outside faucets. One just weeks ago. It took me 5 minutes to clean out dirt from 🔥 🐜

And a strong earth magnet will slow down freezing when placed on the meter... or was it slow down the meter and keep the bill from going up bolt

Got power but water is now gone. Been a good run and we are blessed.

My neighbor came knocking 2 days ago when his burst in the attic asking if I knew where his water cutoff was. I said of course I do, it's right next to mine...

Builder of my house was actually smart enough to install a shut off valve in the garage. Common sense does prevail I guess.
