I haven't been out but I emailed a neighbor and asked if the roads were clear. He replied that the roads were fine but here were waiting outside of HEB and Walmart. How are the shelves in your area?

The shelves are pretty bare in our grocery stores. No meat, no frozen stuff at all, because they have no power. One store had all frozen stuff stored in refrigerated trailers, waiting for normal to return.

Made a run to Wal Mart yesterday, and that place had been picked over worse, than a turkey at Thanksgiving. No bread or eggs. Had some milk. Frozen food section was about depleted.

Plenty of junk food. So I bought some. Can't survive a snow apocalypse with carmel corn, beer and cheese puffs.

Know one thing. When this crap is finally over, some tenderloins are going on the grill.

wife and I last went to the grocery on Sat., HEB and pretty much all of the dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheese) and eggs shelves were completely bare. We then went to Walmart to find the same thing. I can only imagine what they would be like after 4 solid days of wintery mix and subfreezing temps ... We talked to a friend yesterday who "tried" both HEBs here but said there was a line half way around the building of people waiting to get in (remember the onslaught of COVID and the toilet paper shortages) and our Walmart was closed. Later yesterday, he had to go to Round Rock to help a friend and said the HEB there was about the same.
Needless to say, he didn't wait in any of the lines. Very strange times!

Now we have food hoarders lol, people have to eat and as usual I’m sure a lot of people didn’t purchase enough food to last a week before this mess hit. Can you guys imagine what it would look like if something really bad happened and the stores were closed for a month or longer. It would be chaotic at best..

Groceries are going to be tough to get the next few days. Yes I'm a hoarder I could go three months and not miss much.

Just left Walmart. Grocery shelves were picked over but not near as bad as the Covid run a year ago. Why didn’t people raid the toilet paper this time? hammer

Gas is available but not at every station or all grades.

Find of the day was a 5’ propane hose so I can run another heater. clap

We are not what you call a "Hoarder" at all. We built a big pantry in our house and my wife feels like she has to keep it stocked up. I also watch the weekly adds at the major supermarkets and stock up on meat specials for the freezer. We could go a long time before my fat a$$ goes hungry.

Lucky I'm on vacation! But my brothers are getting out there today. The bad thing is a lot of the highways are closed. Rolling black outs are wreaking havoc on stores. It is a cluster F right now. Thing should be back to normal by the weekend.

I went to Walmart yesterday and it was pretty well picked over. It wasn't as bad as the COVID rush of last year but it was getting there.

We have 3-4 weeks of groceries and 5 months worth of meat. No need to leave the house.
